Purchasing after Stocky: rebuild a clear daily workflow
Stocky stopped operating on August 31, 2026. Review Shopify’s built-in inventory tools first, preserve the records still available to you, and decide where your team will manage new purchases.
By the StockLark team · Updated
Shopify’s official transition guide is the source for the retirement date and current export options. It describes a limited read-only export period and limitations on supplier and historical PO migration. Check it before relying on continued access.
1. Reconcile what is still outstanding
List purchases already placed with suppliers, quantities received, and quantities still due. Compare those records with physical stock and Shopify’s current available quantities. Assign one person to resolve discrepancies before generating new orders.
2. Choose where new purchase orders will live
Use native Shopify POs if you need purchasing tied to its receiving workflow. If you choose StockLark for rule-based planning, maintain its records explicitly; it does not import Stocky history or synchronize native Shopify POs.
3. Rebuild only the rules you need
Start with a small set of repeat-purchase SKUs. Verify each supplier, location, reorder point, and target. Do not copy an old threshold without checking whether demand or delivery times have changed.
4. Avoid counting one delivery twice
Decide which system represents each outstanding purchase. In StockLark, only the unreceived quantities on its own Ordered or Partially received POs reduce new suggestions. A purchase recorded elsewhere will not automatically be included.
5. Establish a receiving routine
When goods arrive, reconcile the physical delivery, the purchase record, and Shopify stock. StockLark can record received quantities, but your team must update Shopify inventory separately. Review suggestions only after both records are current.
Is StockLark a complete Stocky replacement?
No. It covers manual reorder rules, supplier drafts, CSV exports, and receiving records. It does not offer one-click migration, historical-data recovery, stock adjustments, or sales-based forecasting.
Use the native Shopify comparison to choose your workflow, then follow the reorder-point guide for a first SKU.
